After watching the boy try - and fail - to exorcise the ghostly tree, Seishirou entertained a thought of leaving the boy alive in hopes to see a worthy opponent growing up. The boy had the potential of becoming that one day and Seishirou suddenly longed for a good challenge.
But the boy had seen him. Not quite realising what he had just witnessed, but he would in due time and could point Seishirou out as the murderer if left to live, and Seishirou couldn't have that.
Approaching the boy with a smile, he only had this in mind: his youngest victim.
