Story tiems
Sep. 26th, 2008 09:06 amWoulda been posted to fanficrants, but it's too... small to bother. So's here.
There was one writer who wrote for a not-so-popular ship and I used to like all of her stories. But after I took a small stray from her works and came back after a few months, I realised I don't like her fics anymore. She called it "character development", I called it unbelievable. I guess, in the time I spent away from that fandom I grew up (fanfic-wise) too fast while she was still tagging along the old paths. In a way, her later-written stories became worse than the ones she started with (although I don't see them quite as the gems they supposedly were back then).
And YET I found an old fic by a different author and you know what? While the fic is still full of iffy characterisation and faily grammar, I bloody love it to bits. Come on! Bakura and Ryou as doctors? A bitchfit of an OC? Malik/Marik as a psycho killer with two personalities in one? Gimme summa dat anytiem. And make sure it's written by this person. And, and... I could rant my love for it for forever and a day, but sadly, the fic has stopped on chapter 3 and will not be continued, ever. 3 chapters of plain awesome is all I'll ever have. But even then, that makes me happy. I'd read this author's House fiction, but I don't want to get involved in that fandom.
The Muraki/Ryuuken fic I promised? I'll get to writing it today after I get home from work. I would have written it yesterday (which was my day off work), but I was too caught up writing my Saiyuki epic adventure. I finally found a solution for that one damn scene that didn't want to work out for me. (hai thar chapter 2. now we're hopelessly stuck on ya instead.)
I LOVE this song, by the way.

Date: 2008-09-29 05:47 pm (UTC)It won't be much, I'm afraid. The next chapter might just throw you for a loop, as it changes pace quite rashly.

Date: 2008-09-29 05:53 pm (UTC)I'm reading it now. It's quite good. Any particular pairings your leaning towards?

Date: 2008-09-29 05:56 pm (UTC)It's hella loooong. And I'm stuck on chapter 2. // None as of yet. I don't know. I'll see where the fic takes me. If I start building pairing plans, they usually don't work out.

Date: 2008-09-29 06:02 pm (UTC)Well, it'll be interesting to see where it goes. But I gotta admit, when you had Gojyo going through his nicotine snit, I was waiting for him to go in and inhale steal the smoke from Sanzo's lips.
But that's just my wishful 53 fangirl talking.

Date: 2008-09-29 06:06 pm (UTC)Ahaha. That would make for an interesting something. I shall have to give that a thought. *has a lot of fics on her to-write list*

Date: 2008-09-29 06:12 pm (UTC)Yayz! I inspired a possible plot bunny! Of course, Sanzo would shoot him as soon as the initial shock wore off. But it would be hella hot while it happened. *is in her happy place*

Date: 2008-09-29 06:24 pm (UTC)I have one 53 fic that needs to be written. Mayhaps I'll manage to incorporate this into it. *plots*

Edit: Incidentallty, 8 is my lucky number. And 3+5=8. I just noticed that. I'll take my nerd of the day award, now.

Date: 2008-09-29 06:40 pm (UTC)So do I, so do I.
COincidentally, mine is 7. That'd be 5+2. (And I barely stopped myself from spitting cocoa all over my pc when I realised what that was.)

BWAHAHAHAHA! That, is twisted and brilliant and wonderful and thank GOD no one is in my department at the moment so I don't have to explain why I was laughing so hard. XD

Date: 2008-09-29 07:07 pm (UTC)See? Every time I think about it, I feel like spitting out whatever the hell I'm drinking at the moment and laughing myself silly. It is EPIC. More so than even Hakashi-sensei.

Date: 2008-09-29 07:36 pm (UTC)I'm not here to help. I signed the wrong contract on my way in to the intarwebz and didn't become a hero. Now I'm here to cause chaos, mayhem and torment.
